NONSENSE and NONSENSIBILITY

Twenty three. Six, one one.

Last night I happened to go to and through a website (of which I am one of the first batch members, and financially non-contributing patron of its "founding fathers") after almost a year (declared as the time taken for refurnishing and refurbishment).

Perusal of a few lines, same in spirit and essence as the very idea behind forming the site, brought in some moments of relief (I rather felt them as moments of release) to an otherwise grim, dull, grey continuous sequence of 3 days.

Nonsense should be the perfect word if one was asked to qualify the literary essence of the website. All of us needed to be nonsensical in our e-interactions, without reason, logic, rationale, and last but not the least without Inhibition and Shame.

While postponing the effort to seriously discuss Nonsense 'Literature' to a latter date (there is a strong possibility of me being persecuted out of Facebook as nonsense nut, and on grounds of eccentricity to the point of extreme lunacy), I must say that I am a permanent and diehard worshipper of nonsense literature, and have thrived on Sukumar Ray, Lewis Caroll and Walter de la Mare since learning to read.

One just can't trivialize this form to one devoid of any literary substantial content, particularly intellectual content -- I might not able to qualify or identify with the "intellectual", I can vouch for the existence of Content in one of the best and wonderful material I've grown up reading.

I must say I'm a fanatic fan of nonsense prose and rhyme. I was worried when the mail arrived declaring the year long period of refurbishment. I was worried that in today's world of chaotic, brutal, cruel, meaningless Sense, Nonsense might have gone into extinction.

Man disbelieves to believe that 'Sense' is a cerebral concept full of propriety, and balance. And man attributes to it being behind everything happening around us, thus empowering 'Sense' with pluripotentiality -- giving birth to these terms like fairness, justice, equality, righteousness, etc etc .

Yesterday evening put end to all my paranoid speculations about the very existence of Nonsense. I now know that as long as Man shall allow Sense to govern its own evolution to future times, Nonsense shall always be there. No worries.

Ending on a nonsensical note with a few regular stuff from Answer.com:

• Will googling Google really break the Internet?

• Can you swim in lava with a fireproof suit?

• How many paper clips are stolen from a workplace per day?

• Why isn't the number eleven pronounced onety-one?

• Can vegetarians eat animal crackers?

You can ignore it, choose not to get it into your system. But Nonsense is here to stay.
